Family & Children Care
We know the children in our communities are our future and Kim’s work-life reflected her desire to make a difference. In her role as a youth development coordinator for programs that promoted healthy living and social responsibility she ploughed the field, tirelessly sowing seeds of positive change. Through support of partner organizations we continue Kim’s work for those youth who have challenged authority or who are in conflict with their families and schools.
Healthy and Safe Environments for Growth
Another area of need for our children where the Kim Usery Foundation continues to focus is mental health assistance especially those that promote early childhood evaluation and detection. So many children either experience trauma or live with undetected conditions that could be dealt with through early intervention. We continue to support a variety of short and long term youth programs provided through established and well-know organizations that professionally work to address these issues.
Adoptions: New Beginning's for the Lonely
Through support of adoption, orphan care and youth programs around the world, the Kim Usery Foundation is responding to God's call with tangible resources and prayers. Adoption creates new beginnings for both children and parents - new families and opportunities for love, healing and growth. We are honored to support both domestic and international adoption and orphan care as part of our mission to support families and children.
Building the Future
Psalm 68:6 "God sets the solitary in families;
He brings out those who are bound into prosperity;
But the rebellious dwell in a dry land."
Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it."
Psalm 127:3 "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward."
Matthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.'"
The Parent Help Center
We support the Jacksonville, FL based ministry of Glenn & Sheila Ellison, The Parent Help Center. Glenn, a Jacksonville High School All-State football player, Marine and former NFL fullback for the Oakland Raiders along with his gentle, sweet and kind wife Sheila responded to God's call together 15 years ago. They have dedicated their lives to empowering parents to raise respectful and productive children in order to strengthen communities, our country, and the world. The Parent Help Center works to change the way parents deal with—and effectively correct—bad behavior and bad attitudes in children through Camp Consequence and other Christ-centered programs.
